Giving Wine As A Gift Will Be Appreciated.

Monday, March 31st, 2008

A wine gift is a gift that you can give to almost everybody, of course they need to be above 21 years of age and no recovering alcoholic or teetotaller but luckily most of the persons you would like to give a wine gift to don’t belong in those groups. Wine is a gift most recipients will love to receive, a classic and welcome gift. Most wine gifts will not be on a shelf for long like other knick knack gifts. Some gifts are discreetly being “re-gifted”, with a wine gift you will be at least of risk that this happens to your gift. Because what ever the color and the size of the wine, people will almost always find a destination for it, some will drink it, and others will create wonderful desserts or sauces with it.

Wine Gift Baskets Are Always Popular.

There is a great variety of wine gift baskets available and they are very popular for givers and as the receiver, they usually contain one ore two bottles of wine, red, white, rose and/or port. Often they are accompanied by crackers, cheese, chocolate or other foods. Usually the wines are paired with a food that tastes good with it for example red wine is a good combination with chocolate and with a white wine like Chardonnay some crackers and cheese are just right.

Wine of the Month Clubs

It all depends on your wallet, but at the cost of just a few hundred dollars your recipient will receive a new wine every month all year long, a gift that keeps on giving for a long wile. A membership of a wine of the month club is a very popular and creative way to give a wine gift. You can of course specify if your recipient would like to receive white wines, red wines combinations of both or other special wines like rose or port. And your gift receiver can reorder any of the wines he or she did really like.

Wine gifts stand on a high and lonely top of the best most wanted gifts, and it does not matter if you give one really good bottle of wine, a basket with two wines, one red and one white, or if you give a whole box of specially selected wines, your gift will always be appreciated. Some people like to give a personalized wine gift, and buy a large amount of one sort of wine and personalize then with specially made labels.

But don’t let this extravaganza keep you from giving just one bottle of an excellent vintage wine, it will be just as appreciated as a whole box of ordinary wines. You do need to make sure that the bottle you give as a wine gift meets the expectations in taste and quality.

Wine tales

Most wine lovers do not just like the wines you give them but also the stories around them, the stories of the seeking out of a special winery in uninhabited areas, or that little unique tasting room, with the toothless waiter, and other unusual tales that will add to the excellence of the gift will be most appreciated.

Jean Bolton loves to give gifts and wine is her favorite. She shows at www.worldwidewinegifts.com what you can do with wine when it comes to giving.

Types Of Acne

Monday, March 31st, 2008

There are many type of acne ranging from small little bumps commonly referred to as pimples to large cysts known as Nodulocystic Acne. Not only does acne vary in physical size, it also varies in quantity from person to person, in other words, some people may have only one or two pimples while others may have their entire face or back covered. Another type of acne most often referred to as “whitehead acne” or “Blackhead Acne” occurs somewhere between the small little pimples and large acne cysts. This is the most common for m of the acne experienced by most adults and teenagers. The distinction “whitehead” or “Blackhead” is made from the color of the lesions.

What Causes Whitehead Acne?

As you know, our bodies are covered with tiny little hair follicles or skin pores from which the hair on our face, back, and legs grows. Contained within these hair follicles are little glands known as “sebaceous glands”, which are used by the body to secrete naturally occurring body oil called sebum to keep the skin lubricated. Acne, whether its whitehead or Blackhead is caused by the clogging of skin pores by debris such as dead skin cells, dirt, makeup and ultimately becoming infected with the p-acnes bacteria. Once the infection starts, the skin pores closes and starts to build up with white puss and expand. Over a period of day or so, this process will give birth to Whitehead Acne.

What Causes Blackhead Acne?

The process of blackhead acne formation is nearly identical to the formation of whitehead acne, listed above. However, the difference lays in the fact that with whitehead acne, the skin pore completely closes, but with blackhead acne, the pore remains open at the top. As the material within the skin pores begins to come out, it oxidizes with the air to produce the “black” color. This is how blackhead acne gets its name.

Who Gets Acne?

Traditionally, acne has been classified as a teenage disease primarily because nearly 80% of all teenage boys and girls are likely to suffer from this skin condition. However, it appears that times are changing; the number of adults suffering from acne has been steadily increasing over the past decade. It is now believed that nearly one in four adults is likely to experience acne in adulthood. In fact, this skin condition is so common that nearly 20 million people in the United States suffer from it every year.

How can you treat acne?

Now that you are familiar with what causes acne, let’s take a look at some common acne treatment options. Depending on the severity of your condition, you may need to seek professional medical advice, especially if you have severe Nodulocystic Acne. However if you suffer from minor to moderate case of whitehead or blackhead acne, in most cases this type of acne can be treated with over the counter acne treatments. Look for acne treatments containing Benzoyl peroxide or Salicylic Acid as the main ingredient. You will find different treatments with varying concentration of benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid. You will find concentration levels ranging from 2% – 15%. I would highly recommend that start with the lowest concentration and work your way up.

Acne Light Treatment – Light Therapy In Treating Acne

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Many adults suffer from recurring acne. Oftentimes, their acne is too stubbornly persistent that creams, washes, or antibiotics that can be bought over the counter no longer work on them.

It was long believed that the ultraviolet (UV) lights of the sun can help improve problematic acne condition. This is true mainly because of the antibacterial benefits from the ultraviolet light spectrum. However, sunlight has been proven to have long-term and much serious skin damage effect, making it unsafe as an acne treatment.

But thanks to advance medical technology that we have today, many treatments are now available to reduce, if not totally cure acne. One of the effective treatments is the use of light therapy.

Acne Light Therapy

Light therapy has been technically and scientifically proven to minimize the extent and severity of acne condition, by destroying the bacteria responsible for acne infections.

Phototherapy or light therapy involves exposure to light with specific wavelengths, by using the following:

1. Light-Emitting Diodes (LEDs)

2. Lasers

3. Very bright or Dichroic bulbs

4. Light with full spectrum

5. Fluorescent lamps

It was discovered that a number of the violet (or blue) light visible from the sunlight, within a range of 405 to 420 nanometers, activates the Coproporphyrin III found in the acne-causing bacteria, Propionibacterium acnes. The porphyrin destroys and kills the culprit bacteria as it releases singlet oxygen. An amount of 320 Joules per square centimeter of light in the 405-420 nm range prevents the survival and viability of the bacteria. This portion of the light spectrum, which is outside the sun’s ultraviolet spectrum, produces minimal sunburn or tanning.

Safety of Acne Light Therapy

Application of this blue light for three successive days was proven to reduce the surface skin bacteria by about 99.9%. The artificial light is typically created by using bright LEDs, Dichroic bulbs, or fluorescent lamps. The treatment can be safely used by most acne sufferers, with the exception of those who also suffer from Porphyria. Eye protection, by using eye shields, is crucial because the retina has chemicals that are sensitive to light.

For best outcome, the blue light treatment goes together with the red light application, which activates the very essential energy-transporter, Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP), in the cells of the skin. This combination of blue and red light reduces the number of acne spots by approximately 75%.

Phototherapy using a combination of red and blue light has been proven to be very effective in acne treatment, possibly because of its combined anti-inflammatory and antibacterial action. Also, this acne treatment has shown no significant adverse effects.

At home, another form of Phototherapy is used by individuals who have long-term acne condition. They use light boxes as it is generally effective and convenient for them. Such light boxes produce both red and blue light wavelengths and may be used for about 15 minutes every day. It is also way cheaper compared to the light treatments that professional dermatologists use. Phototherapy, as one of the best and effective acne treatments, does not solely cure the symptoms, but the bacterial cause as well.

A Guide To Choosing And Acquiring A Free Glucose Meter

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Many Diabetic conditions require monitoring of glucose levels several times each day. A glucose meter monitors your glucose by using a sample of blood that has been placed on a test strip. The test strip, treated with a chemical, causes a reaction in the blood droplet. It is then placed into the meter. Once inside the meter, the method of measurement is determined by the type of machine you use. In some, the glucose will be measured by passing electricity through the blood to determine how much actually passes through. Other types will do so by measuring how much light is reflected from the blood sample.

There are many types of meters available. It is important to know the advantages and disadvantages of each type. Select a meter you are comfortable with. Some meters require more blood than others to perform the test. There are different sizes of meters, as well as differences in price; however, most perform within the same range of accuracy.

Meters are now run by battery and are portable. The downside is the cost of battery replacement.

Most meters have a digital readout. This is a disadvantage for those with sight deficiencies. There are meters available that give verbal reports. Most meters are inexpensive and can be replaced every 2-3 years to ensure accuracy in your equipment. However, the test strips are not interchangeable.

Most systems deliver accurate reports, however, your meter must be properly cared for to maintain accurate readings. Factors such as humidity and temperature can affect readings. If you think this may be a factor review the instructions enclosed for directions of care under your specific circumstances.

A very small amount of blood is required for the test, but before obtaining the blood for the test, the spot that will serve as the test source should be cleaned with a disposable isopropyl alcohol wipe. These are available at most pharmacies. It is important to test a clean area, and equally important that you allow the alcohol to dry before extracting the blood. Once the finger or alternative site is pricked with the lancet, the blood is carefully placed on the test strip. The strip is then placed into the meter.

Some monitoring systems require a sterile lancet to prick your finger. A lancet is very small, usually made of plastic. It holds a very small, needle-like blade for pricking the finger. The amount of blood required for testing will determine the size of the lancet you will need. The smaller the blade, the less it will hurt. There are also pen-shaped lancing devices that will insert the lancet with the press of a button using a spring device. Most people find this less painful than the type of lancets that require you to actually puncture the skin using your own force. You will also need test strips for collecting the blood droplet to be inserted into the glucometer. It is a good idea to use sterile cotton balls to stop the blood flow if necessary. When selecting a monitor you should also compare the prices of the test strips as well. Test strips can be expensive if you do not have insurance.

Most drug manufacturers have an assistance program. The Abbott Patient Assistance Program as well as Roche Diagnostics has a program in place that assists low income families with medical needs. They use the Federal Poverty Guidelines to determine assistance, but in extenuating circumstances will assist patients on Medicare or Medicaid as well.

The Abbott Diabetes Care Patient Assistance Program will assist with both meters and testing strips. Roche will assist with the testing strips only. Most manufacturers list contact phone numbers on product packaging, and can be contacted through this number. Assistance comes in the form of vouchers that can be filled at your local pharmacy. Abbot can be contacted at 1-888-522-5226, or by writing to Abbot Diabetes Care, Inc – 1360 South Loop Road – Alameda, California – 94502. Roche Manufacturing can be contacted at 1-866-441-4090.

Medicare, Medicaid and most insurance plans pay for Diabetic testing equipment. You will be required to obtain a prescription. Your physician will need to write a prescription for the monitor, lancets and alcohol wipes for costs to be covered. Most insurance companies require approval before purchase. Have the pharmacist or medical supply company verify approval before the purchase is completed.

Military Veterans may be eligible for assistance based on their level of disability. Assistance can be determined by contacting your local Veterans Affairs office.

Many medical supply companies offer free monitors if you purchase your strips from them, however, the strips are usually the more costly of the two. Physicians often have samples from pharmaceutical companies. If you need assistance, explain your situation, don’t be afraid to ask for help.

EFT Hacks To Increase Your Income

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is a new form of needle-less acupuncture which is changing lives. Suitable for removing negative issues, or improving positive aspects of life, EFT can help with both emotional and physical ailments. Tapping with the fingertips on specific points of meridian channels, discovered thousands of years ago by the Chinese, can help disentangle an emotion or physical sensation from the reaction our energy system has to it.

When it comes to performance issues of any nature, including generating more income, EFT can be applied generally in 2 ways: either on a belief around what we are trying to achieve, or applied to “blocks to abundance”.

To attract anything into your life, you must believe on several levels. You must believe it is possible, i.e. are you following a proven path that someone else already has? You must believe you have the ability, or competence, to achieve your desired income. Do you have the skills and qualifications you need? But, most importantly, you must believe you deserve that level of income. This is the version I see most often with private clients and this is where I want to focus our EFT for maximum results.

Most performance issues are deservingness issues. The stockbroker working for a firm might not believe he deserves to earn $X for his firm. When he reaches a certain internal glass ceiling of earnings he may become anxious, angry, or worried. The associations we have tied in from the past, to excelling or succeeding in life, can stay with us.

To improve your deservingness, begin to think of what memories or associations you may have tied up with the emotions of the current situation in which you’re trying to do better. Make the connection between what specific things you’re seeing, hearing or feeling in the situation you’re having difficulty with, and the situations from the past from which your unconscious mind may have learned what you currently believe. How do you know you’re not good enough to earn $X? Who or what events told you so? If we were to indict some evidentiary experiences here today that caused this belief, what would they be? Sometimes asking friends or relatives about memories from early life can help. Now apply EFT tapping to those memories or associations, e.g. “Even though my teacher said no-one likes a cocky person…” or “Even though someone passed away the last time I…” Sometimes working with an experienced Practitioner along these lines can pay dividends as they can keep track of memories coming up, and help you navigate the session, while you remain focussed “in” the memories for maximum EFT results.

Other blocks to abundance will be other associations we’ve built up along the path of life. What happened the last time you were this successful/ put yourself out there, earned this much, got this much praise, received an award, etc. In what ways might you have learned, on an unconscious level, that success is bad?

Thinking laterally about such learnings, and applying EFT tapping to each will bring relief from the self-sabotage learned by association, and will bring you the income you truly deserve.

Attracting Love With The Law Of Attraction

Monday, March 31st, 2008

A question that comes up a lot of the time is how to use the Law of Attraction to attract your perfect mate into your life. A lot of people have already identified the perfect person that they want, whereas others are still searching for that special someone.

The Law of Attraction is more than capable of bringing you a love relationship, but only if you approach it in the right way.

For those of you who have set your targets onto a particular person, there is a high probability that you will not actually attract this specific person into your life. That’s not to say that you don’t have any chance at it, but from what I’ve seen the Law of Attraction is here to match things together. Even if you’re so infatuated with another person, if they’re not in alignment with you then the Law of Attraction will not put you both together.

When you’ve fallen head over heals for someone, hearing the information above doesn’t always sound too helpful to your situation. I’d like to point out, that because you have your attention heavily focussed on love and you’re most likely experiencing the feelings of love, you are actually more likely to attract your perfect mate! You’re in the perfect position to manifest a relationship and anything else for that matter. The love energy circulating throughout your body is a lot stronger than when you are not in love with someone. You can probably feel it! And when you’re energy is amp’d up you’re manifestations occur much quicker.

Regardless of whether you are interested in a specific person at present or you are still searching, here is a powerful technique you can use to bring about your perfect relationship.

First, work out what it is you don’t want. Grab a sheet of paper and make a list of all the things that you really don’t want in a relationship. Then once you’ve done this, write down the polar opposite of your unwanted thing. Congratulations, you’ve just worked out exactly what you want in your ideal relationship! (For more information on working out what it is that you want, please see one of my other articles: Identifying Your Dreams and Desires)

Next you’re going to spend time visualizing. Every time you enter your bathtub and have a nice soak, begin dreaming about your ideal relationship. Imagine walking hand in hand with your lover down the beach. Imagine dining out, taking walks, or talking lightheartedly until the sun comes up. The more involved you can get with this vision – the more energy you are hurling towards your desire and the quicker it will manifest.

See your thoughts like bubbles. Every time you think a thought it turns into a bubble and rises up into the air. This bubble can not be burst or broken. When you think a similar thought to another past thought, the bubbles are attracted to one another and link together to form one larger bubble. This is what is going on with your energy and your thoughts. Your thoughts have more power once you’ve given them your attention for just a little while.

Have fun attracting your perfect partner, and don’t forget to say thank you when he or she shows up unannounced!

Healing With Radio Waves: Fact Or Snake Oil?

Monday, March 31st, 2008

More than half a decade ago, in the 1920’s and 1930’s, a scientist by the name of Dr. Royal Raymond Rife invented the World’s first Virus Microscope. But this is not his only claim to fame. Dr. Rife spent his life’s work studying the micro organisms that were for the first time visible to the human eye (thanks to him). His specific interest was in the cells that are responsible for causing troublesome diseases.

He began experimenting with radio wave frequencies and this turned out to be the route that would consume his studies. His findings were very exciting at the time, and remain so today. It was his contention that every molecule has a resonate frequency attached to it. Another way of saying this is that all elementary particles are always vibrating (or oscillating) at their specific resonate frequency, and that in fact all existence is predicated upon sound waves.

It’s interesting that the latest quantum physics theory, born only a decade or so ago, arrives at a similar conclusion. It is called String Theory and it basically suggests that the physical universe is built out of sound vibrations, kind of like everything is the result of some huge cosmic guitar being played somewhere. It’s a mind-blowing concept that is held by some of the sharpest minds in the physics community, including Steven Hawking.

Dr. Rife made incredible progress in this field that has unfortunately not been picked up on and continued with by our modern medical society. His research eventually documented 52 specific frequencies which could be used to treat many common health maladies, including tuberculosis and cancer. His laboratory work showed that he could safely destroy these bad cells and microbes by simply increasing the intensity of the frequency until they disintegrated from the pressure. He documented successful results in both the laboratory environment and in humans.

The human body’s cell structure and good bacteria were unaffected by these treatments. That’s because those cells resonate at entirely different frequencies and are naturally insulated from potentially harmful radio waves. It’s the same reason an opera singer can shatter a glass without hurting anything or anybody else around it.

Many people who have studied Rife’s work have concluded that he discovered the cure for cancer eighty years ago. That notion seems a bit absurd, doesn’t it? But the evidence and documented results are there. It’s just not something that fits into the way modern health care has evolved, so it has been banished to exist under the suspicious Alternative Health label.

Within the alternative health care culture you will discover advanced devices built upon Dr. Rife’s original work whose purpose is to administer healing radio frequencies. More than 250 isolated frequencies have now been discovered for treating everything from general detoxification to cancer. These machines range from foot baths to handheld units and many are built by enterprising people in their garage. You should definitely do your due diligence if you are considering purchasing one of these machines, and we would suggest going for quality over price point.

So, are healing radio waves just another snake oil product being peddled under the guise of alternative health methods? Only you can decide. If you think acupuncture, chiropractors, and herbal supplements are all some kind of scam just because the FDA will not endorse them, it’s probably not for you. But if you are a bit more open minded it might be worth exploring. After all, what have you got to lose except your troublesome health condition?

Quit Smoking – How I Quit Smoking Easily And How You Can Too!

Monday, March 31st, 2008

When people want to quit smoking they want to do it as soon as humanly possible. I don’t blame them for this, I was the same. When I was trying to quit smoking I just wanted some “overnight” way out. But unfortunately these never work.

First you need to have a planned strategy, and understand what you are going to do before you just go out and try and quit.

This article will help to illustrate some of the important elements you will need as a person to quit smoking with no stress.

A “never give up” spirit, is a significant quality you will need for quitting. Listen, despite what all these ‘authorities’ (who are probably just trying to make a quick buck off you) are trying to tell you.

You are going to have cravings. And listen to me when I say this, there is no way to stop them completely without fail.

And that’s why you should have a fighting spirit. If you want to quit smoking and obliterate your nicotine addiction then you need to fight off the cravings to smoke and come out victorious at the other end. Because you will get there! I know so.

The ability to “mastermind” or in other words align with others. Another thing you should learn in your “quit smoking toolbox” is the ability to align with other people who trying to quit grab advice from those who have managed to quit smoking.

I recommend this fully, in fact you’d be silly not to, because you’ll all be able to help each other, share ideas and you’ll make meet new people during your quit session!

How do I do this though, you say? All you have to do is find people, you may already know of them. And if you don’t know of any people who are going through the same thing as you just look online!

There are many support forums all over the internet and I think those forums have been responsible for helping thousands of people quit.

What’s great about these forums is you can connect with like-minded people, that, just like you… are striving for that one goal… To QUIT SMOKING! Through this, you can make some great friends… and this will increase your chance of quitting ten-fold. So go sign up at one of these online forums now!

Use these 2 basic tips I’ve given you and I guarantee you quitting isn’t going to be hard at all.

So anyways, it’s time to take the leap!

Are you going to keep ignorant smoker or will you decide for once in your life to quit and stay smoke-free for the rest of your life.

You have two choices… one leads to a great, healthy fun life full of wellbeing, and the other? Well I’ll let you get creative with that. (But let me tell you, it’s not pretty)

Quit Smoking – 2 Amazingly Simple “Tips” That Will Help You Quit Smoking Easily

Monday, March 31st, 2008

The majority of people who try and quit smoking cold turkey will do so without a plan, make sure you don’t do this. If you are a smoker who would love to to quit smoking but find the whole quitting thing quit intimidating then put down the smoke and keep reading.

This quick article will explain a few, simple but important you need to know if you want to quit smoking.

Something you should obtain is Responsibility. If you’d like to quit smoking then you are going to need to take responsibility. You can’t put this on anyone else and blame others for your problem because you yourself created it. I am going to be a little harsh on you so don’t take it personally but it really is your own fault. A part of achieving a goal is accepting and clearly pointing out your situation and problems and then and then changing it until you have reached your goal.

So forget about blaming anyone but yourself, I’ve helped many people beat smoking and they’ll always tell me things like things like “I smoke because I am always stressed” (Smoking is proven to give you more stress so don’t buy into it) or “I smoke just to annoy all those stuck-up self-righteous non smokers”. Be serious with yourself, are the excuses you’re giving yourself completely logical because I’ll bet they they aren’t. It’s important that you change this, and it’s easy too, just take responsibility for your problem and work towards quitting.

Here’s something that is very important if you are trying to quit smoking. Willpower, in smoking terms this is the ability to persist through even the toughest of cravings. Look, the most average of craving lasts just 3 minutes. Just 3 minutes! yet millions of people all over the world fail to quit each year. They give in to those minute 3 minutes. The irony is that if they could just hold out for a little longer they would make it.

But they don’t, and do you want to know why? Well it’s because so many people these days have virtually no willpower. I’ve quit and I know how hard it is, I was a very addicted smoker. But you’ve got to just tell yourself that you will fight off that next craving. And each time you do so you are filled with a copious amount of confidence which only grows after each time you don’t give in to the craving. So just cut yourself off for that 3 minutes and before you know it, you’ll be off those nasty smokes.

Well we have come to the end of this article and to go out with a bang I’m going to quote a famous sports brand (guess who) and say… “Just do it!” Seriously. Just force yourself to quit and believe in yourself that you will quit. It’s do or die now… and I’d reccomend DOing

Hey! I’m Pete, the author of this article. I’ve created a method in which you can quit smoking by actually smoking (yeah it sounds weird but it works like crazy). Click here –> Stop Smoking Programs and you’ll be able to get a FREE 12-month subscription to my $19.95/month e-letter — Pete ;)

Acid Reflux Symptoms In Children – Try To Stop In The Early Hours

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Acid reflux is an annoying, uncomfortable condition for many people. Most of those that suffer from Acid reflux are grown-up people, but children and small babies and others can also suffer from acid reflux. This condition can be very uncomfortable and distressing. The only difference between adult’s problem and that of children is that the kids really don’t know what to say about this situation. They don’t have words to explain their condition if suffering from Acid Reflux.

It is the responsibility of the parents to recognize the Acid Reflux Symptoms in Children. You must tell your kids about the acid reflux in their language and make sure that have gathered knowledge about this problem. For your convenience here are some of the hints to recognize the acid reflux.

Acid Reflux Symptoms in Children are not always true:

One can not conclude on the basis of symptoms, that a child is suffering from Acid reflux. Consult your doctor immediately after you get a clue about this disease because a doctor can only tell the best medications for your child. A prospective observational study found that children treated with gastric acid suppressing agents for gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD) were at higher risk of gastro-enteritis or community-acquired pneumonia after treatment. The authors note that many children receive gastric acid suppressants. Children with vesicoureteral reflux who received prophylactic antibiotics were 79% more likely to develop a urinary tract infection than those receiving endoscopic injection of the dextranomer-hyaluronic acid copolymer.

There are many factors that can trigger acid reflux in a person. Diet is one of them. Since acid reflux is an ailment associated with the stomach, whatever that goes into the stomach is bound to create an effect on acid reflux. The fast food fad that is rapidly gaining importance in the urban dietary patterns is one major cause of acid reflux. Not only is fast food low in fiber and nutritional contents, but also is also very oily and spicy. Oily and spicy food can trigger off acid reflux in many cases.

You can also find more info on eating diet with acid reflux and on infants with acid reflux. TreatAcidReflux.org is a comprehensive resource to help individuals with acid reflux disease to identify symptoms, prevention and treatment options.
