Excellent Eczema Remedies

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

Eczema, is a chronic condition that can make your itchy skin dry and crack in places. The good news, however, is that you can use simple home remedies to help relieve the pain and soothe the itchy discomfort without having to spend a lot of money!

The skin can break out in rash-like patches that come and go. The rash can become red and inflamed with blisters that may leak fluid. If scratched open, it will spread to other areas.

Yuk! So, please don’t scratch.

With my priceless home remedies you will be feeling better and you will be cleared up no time!

The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition describes eczema as a non-contagious inflammation of the skin characterized by redness, itching, and lesions that break open with a clear discharge which becomes encrusted and scaly.

Certain things can cause a breakout such as:

Soaps with fragrant or perfume, alcohol or perfumed lotions hot, sweaty skin, dry indoor air or wintry air with little moisture, itchy clothing such as wool, dust mites in bed sheets, pollen, mold, mildew, or animal dander, latex (my worst enemy) or rubber gloves, certain jewelry (another culprit of mine), and tobacco smoke. In addition, some foods with a tomato base, or certain dairy foods, nutrient deficiencies especially vitamins A and B-6, zinc, magnesium, iron and essential fatty acids and emotional stress.

There are several types that will have different symtoms and causes.

Atopic Eczema is the most common type. Atopy means a family history or predisposition to allergy conditions such as hay fever, asthma and eczema. Runny noses and sneezing, from the allergies, can trigger flare ups.

Allergic Contact Eczema develops when a person’s skin has a chemical reaction to contact with a substance.

Irritant Contact Eczema is caused by contact with soaps, cleaning products or other harsh substances. The hands are affected most.

Seborrhoeic Eczema is also known as “cradle cap”. This causes a greasy type of rash that is affects the scalp, face, under arms, groin area or under the breasts.

Varicose Eczema is usually associated with a person having varicose veins or other circulatory problems. The rash affects the lower legs and ankles. The skin can become scaly, itchy and dark colored.

Discoid Eczema usually affects middle-aged men on the arms and legs with many round patches in the areas.

Home Remedies such as warm baths with oatmeal, vinegar and sunflower oil, a wet wrap therapy, aloe vera gel (from a plant) work wonders for the pain and itch of eczema. Also, applying moisture is one of the most important things a person can do to help alleviate the pain and itch of eczema.

Many more remedies, plus more information about each type of eczema, mentioned above, can be found at Priceless Home Remedies. Click on one of the links below, in the authors section, for the most comprehensive information available.

I have suffered from the dry, itchy skin for many years, especially on the hands, and I know that many of the home remedies do work! The best thing to do is to find the culprits (mine are harsh chemicals and my wedding rings, of all things) then stop using them or remove them, as in my case of jewelry.

Lisa has devoted many articles with remedies for many common illnesses and household problems that are available at Priceless Home Remedies. For the most up-to-date and comprehensive information on eczema see Eczema Home Remedies.

How Damaged is Your Hair?

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

It is of no real surprise that the hair can easily become damaged especially when you consider all the various elements that are in place such as pollution from the environment, the weather, heating within homes and offices. All of these can cause the hair to become dry and damaged very easily.

With hair care treatments people are literally spoilt for choice on the products that they can use and there are so many products to choose from that some people can get confused. The first vital step is knowing what your hair type is, and once you aware of that you can then determine the appropriate treatment that is then needed.

Having now determined your hair type you then need to decide upon the products that you are going to use and this is not always that easy as there are just so many to choose from. But you need to be careful because many of the products that you will be seeing in the stores do contain a lot of chemicals so they will not go that far in actually helping to treat the cause of any problems that may currently exist. Instead, they are more than likely to aggravate the condition and to make matters much worse.

When it comes to treating the hair you need to be making sure that not only the hair is hydrated and looked after but the scalp is to. People often neglect the scalp, but just like the face, it needs to be moisturised because after all it is still skin, and even though you may not be able to see it, it can become dry, and should this happen there is the possibility of severe itching which often results in the appearance of dandruff, and this is a hair condition that no one wants to suffer

from.

The best products for you hair are those that are organic based which rely just on natural ingredients and do not contain any chemical based ingredients at all. These are not always that easy to find in the stores, as many of the companies that are producing these products, do not have the buying power to buy shelf space in major stores like the big major brands. And it is the big major brands that you need to avoid.

You need to go online and to put in a search for either organic or natural hair care and to view the online stores that are offering these products. But make sure that what you are buying is really natural and organic, but most online stores are quite honest, and the products will have the certified organic logo and approved by a third party also.

Having great hair does not need to be difficult but you need to make sure that you are not doing things that can be causing excess damage. Whilst there is nothing that can be done with regards to pollution but you can control the amount of styling that you do to your hair and the foods that you are eating also.

Get more information about dealing with damaged hair. Spend time learning about skin care products that have no chemicals and get some information on what are the best beauty products to buy also.

Top Tips to Get Rid of Acne Fast

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

There is no doubt that acne is a very annoying problem and the side effects of having serious acne can be very damaging to a persons self esteem and confidence in addition to the physical pain of dealing with acne scarring. Acne is affected by many factors however the main cause of acne is genetics and hormones. Certain lifestyle choices can raise hormone levels in certain individuals which results in excessive growth of acne causing bacteria in the pores. Here are a few simple tips you can apply to help clear your acne faster:

Tip 1: Exercise properly

Most people either exercise too little or too much. It is important to find the right balance of exercise so you can benefit from it to the fullest. Exercise helps your body in many ways including providing a detoxification benefit that can help in the fight against acne. There are two main types of exercise and they are aerobic and strength training. It is important to implement both into your life as they both provide important and unique benefits.

There are many home exercise machines that can even allow you to get both types of exercises at the same time which can save you time. Joining a local gym is the traditional way to get both cardio and weight training into your daily life and if you can find a friend to do it with then you are more likely to stick with it long term. All it takes is one hour of cardio done 3 to 4 times a week combined with one hour of weight training done once a week. Do not overdo it as this can weaken your immune system and make you susceptible to getting sick.

Tip 2: Use gentle cleansers and acne treatment creams

Many people use harsh medications and lotions or drugs to fight their acne. While this can help in some cases it can also result in many nasty side effects including severe dry skin and redness. Look for acne treatments that have predominantly natural ingredients in them like tea tree oil which can be a very effective natural anti bacterial agent and can replace benzoyl peroxide as a potent acne fighter. There are many such products even on the internet that are worth purchasing so just do a little bit of searching to find something that is gentle and does not have too many harsh side effects.

Tip 3: Reduce stress

Emotional stress over prolonged periods can contribute to making acne worse. Be sure to take time any time you are feeling stressed out to relax and breathe. Deep breathing can be a great way to relax and relieve tension. When people feel stressed out they tend to take very short breaths which then reduces the amount of oxygen that gets to your brain and can hamper your ability to think clearly. Taking slow deep breaths will help to give your body the oxygen it needs to function at its peak and will clear your thinking so you can solve problems faster and experience less stress. Consider implementing some of these acne treatment tips so you can get clearer skin quickly.

Sytropin – Could The Fountain Of Youth Come In The Form Of A Sytropin HGH Spray

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

For as long as mankind existed man has been seeking to find the fountain of youth. In the past decade, it seemed as though the wealthy and the well off had found the answer with human growth hormone injections. It is a costly procedure and a doctor’s prescription is needed, but for the rich, these considerations pose no barrier.

What about the common man? Would he ever find the ways and means to avail himself of human growth hormone? It seems that day has come with the onslaught of a variety of HGH supplements that are well within financial reach of the masses.

What are HGH Supplements?

The best HGH supplements on the market do not claim that the amount of human growth hormone is what makes them special. Instead it is the unique ingredients that promote the anterior pituitary gland to increase production of human growth hormone on its own. So in fact, the body is encouraged to produce the natural secretion that many are calling our own fountain of youth.

What is HGH?

Human growth hormone is present in every human being. In our developing and early years the body produces it in abundance. But as we age, like everything else, human growth hormone is greatly decreased and we begin to show the signs and symptoms of a body and mind getting older.

Reports and scientific studies show that human growth hormone replacement therapy works. It gives the user a feeling of vibrancy, sexual potency and reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. It is said to increase muscle mass and help the body to shed unwanted and unhealthy fat.

Not only do those that are aging find benefits from adding human growth hormone supplements to their daily routine but athletes and bodybuilders find that their body can repair itself much quicker than if they were not taking a supplement of human growth hormone.

What Makes Sytropin Special?

It seems that out of the HGH supplement pack one product stands out. That product is Sytropin. Users have reported superior results when Sytropin is taken as directed. It is not a pill or a capsule, rather it is a spray that is immediately absorbed by the body when sprayed under the tongue.

Many are hesitant to try Sytropin as they feel that perhaps it may all be hype, but Sytropin comes with a 90 day money back guarantee so there really is no risk to trying it. You are recommended to take Sytropin as directed for a three month period. Evaluate how you feel and decide if Sytropin has given you more energy, a more restful night’s sleep, has you looking and feeling better than you have in years and has given a man back his sexual potency. Those that are regular users of Sytropin say that people assume they have had some cosmetic procedures done when in fact their healthy and vibrant looks are coming from inside. Do some research concerning Sytropin before you attempt any surgical procedure and perhaps give it a try to find out if Sytropin can be your fountain of youth.

Heal Skin Naturally With Serious Acne Naturist Treatment

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

Teenagers and adults plagued by acne on the face and other body parts are advised to try serious acne naturist solutions before using anything else. Commercial and medical acne treatments can be too intense for your sensitive skin. Most of them even contain dangerous antibiotics that produce adverse side effects. Naturist treatment involves treating your acne with natural ingredients.

The most common skin problem today is acne vulgaris. This group of diseases includes whiteheads, blackheads, pimples, and cysts. Severe acne can scar the face. And such scars can only be treated with laser therapy and Retin-A based drugs. Acnes are the biggest problems of teens, although a good number of adults suffer from it as well.

Here are some serious naturist modes of treatment to help heal skin problems like acne fast:

1. Exercise

Exercising daily helps in keeping your body’s blood circulation operate better. If blood freely flows through the veins, a healthy immune system is achieved. Furthermore, the energy you gain from exercise can help boost your confidence and physical fitness.

2. Hormones

Hormones are usually the suspect for acne breakouts. Changes in one’s hormonal level can trigger flare-ups. However, this can be prevented by taking natural supplements like vitamins and minerals to bring back your body’s hormonal levels within normal.

3. Maintain a clean and clear skin

Never scrub your skin especially if you suffer from a severe case of acne. Doing so would further damage your skin and cause flare-ups. Instead, use an exfoliating scrub to gently remove dirt and dead skin cells on the surface of the skin. Clean your face and skin properly, preferable twice everyday. Use a mild, acne-fighting soap every morning and during the night. Go for unscented products as your skin might be sensitive to the fragrance used on the product.

4. Eat a nutritious diet

Certain food items can help greatly in maintaining your skin’s health and prevent breakouts. Eat 2 to 5 servings of fresh fruits and vegetables daily. Fruits and vegetables contain antioxidants and nutrients that can help repair the damages sustained by your skin. Taking foods rich in sulphur are also advised because they can help greatly in facilitating the natural treatment of acne. Don’t forget to drink 8 to 10 glasses of water daily to remove toxins out of your body.

5. Use of natural remedies and treatments

There are natural ingredients sold in health stores that can help exfoliate the skin. They are also helpful in treating large pores, blemishes, blackheads, pimples, and whiteheads. The can also reduce scarring, fine lines, dark spots, and sun-damaged skin. Good examples of natural remedies for skin care are evening primrose oil, black currant seed oil, calendula, Echinacea, tea tree oil, and goldenseal. Lavender and chamomile can help in addressing stress-triggered acne breakouts. Other herbs you can use as a tea are yellow dock, sarsaparilla, cleavers, and burdock. Honeysuckle can also be used alternately. Natural enzymes and antioxidants may also help. Aloe Vera is a popular plant that can help restore the skin’s lost beauty.

Using Gin Soaked Raisin to Help Treat Arthritis

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

There are many home remedies for arthritis. But the one most talked about these days are gin soaked raisins. Many people testify to the healing prowess of this particular remedy. And it is quite easy to prepare too. All you need are a good amount of gin and some golden raisins. Just put the raisins in a big bowl and pour enough gin to cover all of them. Let the raisins absorb the gin and allow the excess gin to evaporate. The whole process may take one week or longer. After which, the raisins will have to be kept in a jar covered tight with its original lid. To help treat arthritis, patients have to eat nine pieces of the prepared raisins daily. The raisins can be added to one’s morning cereals or taken as snacks throughout the day.

This remedy sounds strange indeed. And the bigger question is always, will it work? The only way to find out is to try it. As of writing, there is still no medical evidence that gin soaked remedy works for arthritis patients. However, for those who are willing to try and do anything to provide relief for their condition, this simple recipe can be used. Anyway, raisins can be good for the body too. Raisins contain a good amount of antioxidants, which can help restore the functionality of body cells.

The popularity of the gin-soaked raisin remedy started when veteran radio anchor Paul Harvey talked about it in his show. Right after, the word about this holistic remedy spread like wildfire. And a lot of arthritis patient had actually tried it. If all the testimonies of the people who tried the remedy can be qualified as true, then gin soaked raisins must be one of the most effective home remedy there is for arthritis. In fact, this remedy is now being featured in almost all natural, holistic, and herbal books, magazines, and articles that discuss cures and treatments for certain diseases.

Today, there are a lot of variations to the simple recipe of gin-soaked raisin remedy. And almost all of them are coupled with convincing testimonials given by people who had actually tried it. But before anybody think of this as a miracle cure, it is best that the ingredient’s nutritional values are considered first. While the testimonials of people are impressive, they are not good enough basis to believe.

Further analysis revealed that raisins do have natural components that can be helpful for arthritis patients. Both white and golden raisins contain sulfides or sulfur that can help relieve arthritic pain. The sulfur is acquired when the grape slowly dries out, as the whole drying out process uses sulfur dioxide as catalyst.

Raisins have high natural chemical content as well. And these natural chemicals have both anti-arthritic and anti-inflammatory effects. Raisins also have pain relieving properties that can treat common illnesses associated to soreness and swelling.

On the other hand, gin is made out of juniper berries. Juniper gives gin its distinct flavor. This herb comes from the conifer plants and evergreens of Europe and North America. These berries are rich in Vitamin C and terpenes. Even the people of the Middle Ages use these berries to treat swelling and pain because it is an effective anti-inflammatory agent. Given these facts, there is high potential that gin-soaked raisins may actually help people with arthritis.

Top 3 Reasons For Curing Your Acid Reflux

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

If you’ve been an acid reflux sufferer for any length of time then you’ve probably spent a lot of time looking for a cure of some kind to end the pain. Heartburn, even if it’s just now and again, is a real drag on how you live your life. You never know exactly when it’s going to strike or how severe the pain might be this time.

There’s nothing worse than waking up in the middle of the night in the middle of an attack of acid reflux and flailing around trying to find antacids when you’re half asleep. Your sleep is broken, you’re uncomfortable and your gut hurts. Not a good night.

There are 3 really good reasons for wanting to cure your heartburn.

Quality of Life

Curing your heartburn will mean an instant change in your quality of life. The first thing you’ll notice is that you’re able to sleep through the night without any attacks of acid reflux to wake you up. This means that your body is going to be more rested in the morning and you’re basically going to have a far better day.

You also won’t have heartburn problems during the day either which means you’re going to spend more time enjoying your day and less time eating handfuls of antacids to quench that fire in your stomach. TV ads make heartburn look almost trivial but that burning sensation in your throat and stomach is far from being fun.

Enjoy Your Meals

Eating food before or after an attack of acid reflux is an absolute nightmare. Reflux can leave you feeling bloated before the meal even begins and even a simple mouthful of wine can be enough to set off another attack. Eating a good meal is one of the most basic pleasures any human being can enjoy and doing that without having to worry about heartburn will make any social event a lot more enjoyable for you.

One note on the above – using a heartburn cure or remedy and eating piles of spicy food isn’t going to work. You’re fooling nobody. A major part of your “cure” would be to eat sensibly – if a particular type of food gives you heartburn… guess what? Avoid it!

Prevent Cancer

There is a condition called Barretts Oesophagus that can lead to a type of cancer appearing in your throat. This only happens to certain people and only when they’ve made no attempt to deal with their acid reflux at all. Should you be scared? If you have severe heartburn that’s been going on for years then it would be a good idea to go and have a checkup. It’s quite rare to develop cancer as part of chronic heartburn but why take chances?

Let’s be clear here – heartburn doesn’t cause cancer but the damage done to the tissue in your throat can cause cell damage and allow cancerous cells to develop. Again if you’re not sure get a checkup.

So we’ve talked about a cure a lot here but not actually shown you one.

For that information folks you’re going to have to follow the links right below here.

Desperate for relief from that searing pain in your throat and chest? Don’t want that taste of vomit in the back of your mouth? Who can blame you! The Dummies Guide to Curing Heartburn

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

The term heartburn is used to describe a feeling that people get that isn’t actually anything to do with their heart at all. That awful sensation that wells up in your chest isn’t even remotely related to your heart; it actually starts in your gut. Heartburn or acid reflux as it’s otherwise known starts with a problem with the control of the acid in your stomach.

The pain you feel during a bout of heartburn is down to the acid from your stomach moving back up your throat towards your mouth. Now bearing in mind that the acid in your stomach is hydrochloric acid (strong enough to melt metal) your throat (your esophagus) is going to be severely irritated by this acid. It’s actually burning away at your flesh which is what causes that intense pain in and around your chest.

How often you actually get heartburn and how severe it is depends on a lot of factors such as stress and especially what types of foods you eat a lot. Spicy foods or foods that have a very high acid content are almost guaranteed to cause an attack of acid reflux; so if they’re part of your diet you may want to cut them out totally. For some people heartburn is a just a passing nuisance pain. For other folks out there it’s a constant battle against a painful problem they’d much rather get rid of.

When you get an attack of heartburn the way it appears varies from person to person. Some people feel a burning sensation in their throat, some people can’t stop burping and some others even begin to choke. Overall the most common sign of acid reflux is that nasty taste of vomit in the back of your mouth.

So what causes this problem?

Basically there’s a valve in your stomach designed to keep the acid down there. Sometimes this valve gets jammed open and the acid in your stomach escapes and flows up towards your throat. This happens a lot when people are laying down – maybe having a nap after a meal. Heartburn itself can be made far worse by your diet – eating spicy foods definitely won’t help.

Is it treatable?

Sure. There are dozens of treatments out there for heartburn/acid reflux and you’ll be spoiled for choice when choosing one. Actually there’s that many options out there just making the choice can be a headache. You have so many different over-the-counter treatments to choose from first. Dozens of them. Then you move into the territory of prescription treatments and all the “potential” side-effects that are tied to those. Some people even go as far as having surgery as a longterm solution for their reflux….which is a bit drastic no?

If you’re like me you probably prefer to go the “natural route” for treating a problem like this. Especially considering the fact that most acid reflux “cures” can only be used for 2 weeks and then you have to stop. Not really a cure is it?

Another day with that burning sensation your chest? Tired of eating antacids like they’re M&Ms? There are better options. Why not check out an acid reflux home remedy that you can use over and over again – safely! Learn how to cure your heartburn today – head over right now to www.Reflux.com

Polyphenols an Antioxidant Has Powerful Disease Fighting Properties

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

A lot of new evidence suggests that consuming more plant polyphenols is a powerful way to protect aging arteries. These polyphenol compounds help improve endothelial function, a critical factor in preventing atherosclerosis; inhibit abnormal platelet aggregation which causes most sudden heart attacks and strokes; fight inflammation; and support healthy blood lipids. Polyphenols that are of particular interest are those derived from green tea, cocoa, apples, and black chokeberry, which all complement each other in helping to build the body’s defenses against various ailments.

All throughout history, the medicinal potential of plants has been celebrated. Modern science has found that edible plants are to be valued for their high vitamin and fiber along with their rich store of polyphenols. Polyphenols are found in fruits and vegetables, as well as cocoa, tea, and chokeberry and have been shown to be a type of chemical that may protect the body against some common health problems as well as certain effects of aging. Polyphenols protect cells and body chemicals against damage that is caused by free radicals and block the action of enzymes that cancers need for growth, deactivating substances that promote the growth of cancer. The increased consumption of polyphenols has been associated with a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease and potentially cancer and stroke.

In Aztec culture, cocoa was one of the most highly prized due to its medicinal and stimulant value, along with its taste. The polyphenols found in cocoa occur in a higher concentration than can be found in any other food. They also have antioxidant activity much greater than those found in broccoli or red wine. The catechins and procyanidins that are found in cocoa seem to lower the risk of cancer and heart disease. Cocoa has also been proven in studies to reduce blood pressure, improve insulin sensitivity, and slightly ameliorate the lipid profile. Although cocoa is a healthy and tasteful food, it is high in caloric content and therefore, its ingestion must be accompanied by the careful reduction of calories from other sources.

Many studies have shown that tea polyphenols can be extremely beneficial to human health, possessing anti-obesity, antihypertensive, anti-diabetic, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer effects. Tea is the world’s second most consumed beverage, although less popular in the Western diet. Green tea and white tea retain more polyphenols in their intact form, as oolong and black teas undergo more extensive processing before they are marketed. Tea polyphenols break down in high temperatures therefore; freshly brewed tea contains a higher amount of polyphenols per serving than do tea drinks that are canned or bottled.

Similar to the blueberry, the black chokeberry is high in anthocyanins and antioxidant activity. It is native to eastern North America and has become popular in Eastern Europe and Russia due to its health-promoting potential. This berry protects the liver from chemical poisoning and the stomach lining from ulcers. It also acts as an anti-inflammatory, lowers harmful cholesterol levels, and prevents dangerous swings in blood pressure. Some studies have shown that this berry seems to prevent the harmful mutations in cell cultures, regulates immune function of human white blood cell cultures, and suppressed the growth of human colon cancers.

It seems like certain groups are more prone to the affects of their lifestyles than others. Take, for example, the creative type. These are the people who spend hours at a time trying to figure out what their next masterpiece will be. Or perhaps they spend hours reading a good book at a caf
